A beacon for those in search of housing, Elmer Williams Square emerged as a way to accomplish affordable, safe housing for families in the East End of Pittsburgh. The idea of visionary and community spiritual leader, Reverend Elmer Williams, the “Square” continues to serve the East End by also providing resource services to its residents.
SEED’s mission is to help turn renters into potential homeowners by teaching the value of homeownership and community responsibility.
Our program will also be designed to teach Generational Wealth. We’re also pushing to develop a program for our neighborhood school to teach the same principles to our youth.
SEED’S vision is to develop a Community owned and operated by the Community. We envision our Community being owned by Black residents and using our economic power to promote, develop, and support the Minority Owned Businesses in our Community.
